1. Partition by your world streaming model
Drive generation and source edits in world/chunk-sized units. Let vegetation runtime streaming manage presentation rather than duplicating a second renderer lifecycle.
2. Persist runtime-safe source edits
For deterministic procedural worlds, saving seed + generator state is often smaller than serializing every generated decision. Persist Manual runtime placement/harvest edits in your world save strategy. Density, Noise, painted Color and painted Placement Mask should be authored before Play and treated as fixed runtime data.
3. Regenerate locally
When one procedural cell changes, update only that cell/brush rectangle. Avoid broad full-Area rebuild calls as a normal runtime workflow.
4. Validate transitions
Test camera teleport, fast traversal, unload/reload and returning to previously visited cells. The same source state should produce the same visible vegetation.
