1. Create an Area
Use GameObject → Modern 2D Vegetation → Create Vegetation Area, then select the new object.
2. Choose which plants to paint
In the Project window, right-click and choose Create > Modern 2D Vegetation > Vegetation Type Set. Select that file, add a plant type and assign its sprite. Select your Area in Hierarchy, then drag the Type Set file into its Type Set field in Inspector. You can also use one of the supplied Type Sets to get started.
3. Choose the game view
Choose Top-down for a game viewed from above, where a character walks in front of and behind plants. Choose Platformer for a game viewed from the side.
4. Paint a few plants
Select the Area and open Scene Painter. Choose Manual, then Paint. Click inside the Area rectangle in Scene view. Start with a few plants so you can check their size before filling a larger space.
5. Make the plants move
Add a Wind Manager if you want wind. Its direction and strength affect the plants that receive wind. Add a Wind Area later if one part of the scene needs different wind.
6. Add interaction
Put Vegetation Interactor 2D on the player or moving object. Start from Top-down Character or Platformer Character preset.
7. Try it in Play Mode
Select the Area, open Tools > Modern 2D Vegetation > Runtime Painter, and paint in Scene view. Play edits are temporary by default. Expand Keep Runtime Edits in the Area Inspector and enable Save on Stop if you want to keep them.
8. Check your build
Test a Player build on your target hardware. Check the visible plants, sorting, interactions and runtime edits you use.
