Vegetation is completely missing

  • Confirm the Area is enabled, has a Type Set and the Type Set has a valid sprite.
  • Confirm Area bounds contain the authored source position.
  • Check the Area, its Type Set and the first Console error before rebuilding data.
  • If this happens only after Play/reload, inspect runtime-data/cache restoration rather than repainting the Area.

Purple / magenta vegetation

  • Check that URP uses a 2D Renderer, and read the first shader error in the Console.
  • Confirm the project is using the supported URP/SRP configuration.
  • Do not fix a package shader error by reauthoring every material in the scene; identify the missing/failed shader first.

Wind does nothing

  • Confirm one active Wind Manager exists.
  • Confirm the vegetation Type receives wind and its strength is not zero.
  • For UV Wind, an unpainted mask means full response. A black/zero result from an absent mask is not expected.
  • For advanced areas and interactors, keep the packaged Wind Field and Wind Area Composition shaders in Resources.

Interaction works in preview but not at runtime

  • Bend/Pulse require the Wind Manager path.
  • Cut/Destroy/Grow/Regrow use the Interaction Manager state path; an Interaction Manager can be created automatically by API calls, but explicit edit-mode previews may need one in the scene.
  • Verify shape/falloff using the Scene contours and test Circle first to separate geometry from state problems.

Some pages disappear while scrolling SceneView

Wait for the view to finish loading, then return to the same camera position. If plants are still missing, check the Console and keep a screenshot of the problem. Avoid painting over the gap: the original plants may still be stored there. Check your World Data count before changing or rebuilding it.

Everything rebuilds after compile / Play exit

Unchanged vegetation should reuse its saved source and Runtime Data. If scripts changed but vegetation data did not, a broad source regeneration is unexpected; check Runtime Data freshness and presentation restoration first.
