Primary modes
- Manual — place or erase explicit vegetation instances.
- Density — paint compact 0–15 density levels used by procedural placement.
- Noise — author spatial procedural influence without manually placing every plant.
- Color — paint local bottom/top color data across vegetation.
- Placement Mask — hide/show existing vegetation from its root without deleting or regenerating source instances.
Brush workflow
The painter interpolates strokes so fast mouse movement does not leave gaps. Keep brush size large enough for the intended world scale and use strength/falloff instead of repeatedly repainting tiny changes.
- 1–5 switch major modes.
- B/R/I/G select common tools.
- X changes the active operation; Shift temporarily inverts where supported.
- [ and ] adjust brush size; F frames the Area; Alt+1–9 uses favorites.
Performance expectations
Painter work is budgeted and sliced. A large stroke may finish over several editor ticks while already-valid vegetation remains visible. The asset should not reveal partially rebuilt vegetation just because an edit exceeded one frame's budget.
